The Art of the Mix
There’s a certain magic that happens when you stop matching and start layering. For me, fashion is all about the friction between different worlds—the softness of lace meeting the ruggedness of a chunky knit, topped off with the weight of gold and stone.
When I’m styling a look like this (see the close-up below!), I follow the "Rule of Three" for textures:
The Base (Soft): A delicate lace or silk layer to keep things feminine.
The Layer (Rough): A heavy, oversized knit or distressed denim for that "lived-in" Western feel.
The Anchor (Hard): Bold, gold statement rings and natural stones to ground the look with some Boho-Rock edge.
Ali’s Pro-Tip: Don't be afraid of "clashing" volumes. A fitted lace top under a massive, cozy sweater creates a silhouette that feels both intentional and effortless.
